I Live For Christ

So the other day I was listening to some worship music on itunes as I began to fall asleep.  It was really weird because I was just lying there, when I just felt the Holy Spirit speaking to me, very subtly.  His words truly were comforting and his Word came at the perfect timing.  

 At the moment before he began to speak, I was thinking (as always).  I was condemning myself, thinking about all of my faults, and all of the areas of my life that I struggle in.  That is when the Holy Spirit spoke to me.  He told me to aim my thoughts towards Jesus, so I did.  The Holy Spirit told me that I was worrying for no reason, and that Jesus already knows my faults, weaknesses, and mistakes. 

The Holy Spirit just spoke the name of Jesus into my spirit over and over again.  At this point I’m just thinking, “Holy Spirit what are you doing?”  As I listened to him continue speaking, I a quick thought of me walking up to Jesus and being embraced by him.  I thought to myself, “Wow, Jesus, I’m so imperfect and I want to be a faithful disciple for you.”  I went down a list of things that I was unhappy with about myself, and when I was done, Jesus tells me that because I am saved through him, that none of those things matter. 

He told me that whenever I hear his name, and think of him, that I can have this peace, this joy, because it comes from him.  I was crying as I fell asleep.  I was saying that I was unworthy, but God was saying that I was worthy, because of his son Jesus.  Some of you reading this, need to know that the same thing applies to you also.  For those of you who struggle with depression, guilt, shame, rejection, fear, etc, just know that Jesus loves you and he has paid the ultimate price for us all.  

Anything that says otherwise, is a lie from satan, and he is the father of lies.  We are made in God’s image, and through his son, we have freedom.  In John 14:27, Jesus says “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  Wow!  That’s beautiful, and Jesus spoke those words to each and every one of us, no matter where we may be in life. 

Through repentance (turning away from sin) and confession, we are forgiven God hears our prayers.  God also gives us grace, to help us turn away from our sin.  God’s Holy Spirit works empowers us to do what Christ demands of us.  Jesus is with us, and he brings freedom to all.  Someone out there needed to see this and I thank God for his word.  Share this with anyone you know, who may be struggling with their self image, self esteem, etc.  May God bless you all

Well first off, anybody that spends time with me regularly, knows that I am a super critical thinker and I ask a TON of questions.  This morning I had read a little more than half of today’s reading for the #90DayBibleChallenge and I was getting ready to shower.  The Holy Spirit was speaking to me and I could feel the spirits of doubt and fear trying to oppose everything that he was telling me. 

I began praying against those spirits but for a moment I gave into them momentarily.  (I confessed and repented shortly after)  However, I began to question God as Moses questioned him  in Exodus chapter 3.  I came up with a thousand “what if” scenarios and the Holy Spirit had an answer for them ALL.  But I just kept asking all of these doubtful questions until finally, I felt as though I heard the Holy Spirit laughing. 

I’m like, God, what is so funny??  I’m trying to be serious here, and you’re laughing, what is going on??  He finally says to me, that I reminded him of Moses and that I should trust his Word even though I do not know the exact methods in which he will move once I act on my faith in Jesus Christ.  Sometimes, I have everything planned out in my head, on how things are going to happen, or at least how I think they should happen and God is like “No David”, that is not how it works.

Anyway, I said to God, well why can’t you give me specific instructions as you gave Moses, and God replied, David, I commissioned Moses but I didn’t tell him the specific methods or ways in which I would carry out my Word.  He said that Moses had no clue that God would send plagues, or divide the Red Sea for the Israelites (and a host of other provisions by God).  I was stunned, I couldn’t say anything, and the Holy Spirit was still laughing and by this point, I started to laugh also.  

I confessed my faults for doubting him, and I repented.  I felt joy, and peace in knowing that God knows me best, and he knows how to handle me when I over-think and complicate things.  He told me to “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will added unto you”, and I believe.  He is beyond faithful, and his love truly does endure forever.  I pray that you guys are encouraged by this, and know that God knows you better than yourself, and he just wants us to trust him.  Thanks for reading this, be blessed.

    So earlier today, at midnight lol, I started to read the book of Genesis for  #UnashamedImpact’s  #90ayBibleChallenge, and the Holy Spirit instantly began to speak to me and show me things in scripture, that I have never even thought of before. For instance, in speaking of Adam and Eve, Genesis 2:25 says “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” The Holy Spirit impressed upon me that when a man and a woman are united by GOD, for HIS divine purpose, then they can be “naked” with one another without being ashamed. 

The nakedness that I speak of is more than physical.  Adam and Eve were able to ‘not be ashamed’ of their physical nakedness because of something that God had created on the inside of them also.  Their outer attitudes towards each other’s nakedness, was simply a reflection of their hearts.  They were not ashamed because God, in his holiness and his perfection, had given Eve to Adam.  Eve was literally created for Adam!  That is amazing! 

This model of Adam and Eve shows us that when a man and woman have their hearts centered on God, his will, purpose and plan, they too can be “naked and not ashamed.”  I am speaking about a Holy, undefiled nakedness that is pure in the sight of God.  The Holy Spirit impressed upon me, that this is what he wants for me, and for you too!!!

Also, from Adam and Eve, we can see what happens when we turn our hearts to anything that is in opposition to God.  We see the consequences of not being able to walk in a holy and pure nakedness because of sin.  That topic is for another day though, lol. 

(Quick thought - I implore you, ladies, to not reveal your nakedness, to a man that is not yet your husband.  Likewise, guys, God is preparing our Eve for us, and when God shows us who/where she is, she will be WELL-worth the wait.  We should be found working heard,  with God’s righteousness evident in our lives, and being prepared by the Lord for courting/marriage)

        Hi everyone, my name is David Jordan.  This blog is just about the thoughts and life of a guy who has been saved by Jesus Christ and by his Holy Spirit, I am growing/maturing in his Word daily.  I will be posting the things that the Holy Spirit reveals to me and the things that he does for me daily.  Really quickly though, I came to know Jesus Christ during the summer of 2010 in such a real and personal way, that I was completely consumed and obsessed with being a faithful disciple of his.  John 3:30 - “He must increase but I must decrease”

My greatest heart’s desire  is to be submitted to Christ wholeheartedly, and to see the Kingdom of God here on earth.  I’m talking about people being saved, healed, delivered and set-free of the strongholds that satan may have on their lives.  I know that Jesus Christ saves, heals, and delivers people of physical/spiritual bondage, even today.  Anyways, I would love to keep in contact with you guys/gals here on tumblr, my twitter, and facebook pages.  If you have blogs/websites, let me know, I would love to check them out.
